Hey everyone,

It wasn't super-publicized that spaznick was going back to Korea to meet with Nexon last week, but now that he's back, we can give you all an update on what happened there. We have a load of great news here, and are very excited to tell you that the dev team has comfortably settled in at the Nexon offices, and are quickly ramping up support for Shaiya. Nexon has committed to the following:

Here are updates on things the Shaiya community already knows about:

Nexon agrees that a server merge for OS is critical priority, and has committed to working on it-- they even committed to potentially shifting a senior DB admin from another team to help speed up the process

Econ issues remain a top priority, and Nexon is re-working and changing the econ balancing mechanics that were released in Shaiya Korea to be more effective in the US

PvP balance, and related mechanics, will be worked on such as enchant scaling and ele2 skills (Note: resist is still in discussion, as it is a very complicated issue)

70 AP Gear, adding HM ability: Team Shaiya will be testing this update very soon, and expects to release this with a small patch very soon

Security updates will be coming soon, to help stop gold spammers, bots, and cheaters

Episode 6 remains a priority, and is still expected to launch in Q3 or Q4 of this year


Here are some updates on things you didn't know about yet:

An awesome new mountable pet system is in the works: These are mounts that stay with you, attack, gather items, and provide other benefits (we will give you more details on this as soon as we can)

Episode 6 is getting even more content added (beyond what Shaiya Korea already has) including a huge new PvP dungeon and other things

There is a lot to be excited about in the world of Shaiya, both for OS players and Phoenix players. We appreciate all of your feedback and patience, and our team is very very excited to share these updates with you. Looks like this year is shaping up to be the best year for Shaiya ever


About the server merge:

There are a LOT of logistical and execution-related questions about a server merge that have not yet been answered. Nexon is working hard to work out the details, and Team Shaiya will let you know as soon as we have a clearer picture of how it will work. For now, just know that it's being worked on, and don't worry about the logistics yet: Our teams are committed to doing a server merge in the best way possible that will work out great for everybody involved.
